Finale by Stephanie Garber

SPOILERS FOR CARAVAL AND LEGENDARY

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

I want to feel love in its every form. I used to be so scared of it, but now I think love is another type of magic.

Description

A love worth fighting for. A dream worth dying for. An ending worth waiting for.

It’s been two months since the Fates were freed from a deck of cards, two months since Legend claimed the throne for his own, and two months since Tella discovered the boy she fell in love with doesn’t really exist.

With lives, empires, and hearts hanging in the balance, Tella must decide if she’s going to trust Legend or a former enemy. After uncovering a secret that upends her life, Scarlett will need to do the impossible. And Legend has a choice to make that will forever change and define him.

Caraval is over, but perhaps the greatest game of all has begun. There are no spectators this time: only those who will win, and those who will lose everything.

Welcome, welcome to Finale. All games must come to an end…

Plot

I am so sad to say goodbye to this series, I absolutely loved it and Stephanie is now one of my favourite authors and I cannot wait to read more of her work.

Now this plot was insane and jam packed full, but not in an overwhelming way. In Finale we are following both Tella and Scarlett point of view in this book, both of them are doing their own thing but everything that has happened in Caraval and Legendary is coming together in one epic showdown. And trust me, it is epic.

Characters

Donatella ‘Tella’ Dragna

Tella became my favourite sister during Legendary, she definitely got more attention than Scarlett in this book. And I loved her storyline in Finale and with the kind of love triangle thing with Legend and Jacks! ahh, it was so swoon worthy! Tella showed how independent, stubborn and overall incredible she is in Finale and she is one of my favourite female characters.

Scarlett Dragna

Scarlett’s storyline was kind of boring compared to Tella’s. And I hated the fact that she even considered getting with Nicol-arse obviously Julian is the one for her, I don’t ship her with anyone else.

Julian Santos

Julian wasn’t in Finale as much as I’d have liked him to be, but he did have an important role in this book

Legend

Ahhh, my husband. I am utterly in love with Legend. In Finale we see a more ‘human’ side of Legend in Finale and I really enjoyed seeing that because I was scared he was going to be the big villain in Finale but he wasn’t really.

Jacks

Jacks is great. and like Legend we get to see Jacks being vulnerable and there is a specific scene that you kind of forget all the bad things he had done and I felt so sorry for him in that moment. He kind of has a redemption at the end but he was still a complete ass.

My Thoughts

The only thing I wish we had was more of Paloma in this story, but she is kind of the catalyst for this whole story so I’m not that mad about it.

Seeing all the Fates was amazing, seeing the Fated Places was great and Stephanie’s description of these placed were brilliant and they were easy to picture in your head.

The ending was phenomenal. All the loose ends where tied up yet the ending was kept open so more books can be written in this universe. Which I am hoping there is more written because I am not ready to say goodbye to this amazing world and these great characters.
